Open Meadow meters activities that cost money to run, such as AI writing and voice generation, in credits. Every account has a monthly or trial allowance of credits, and extra credits can be added at any time. Listening to meditations that already exist never uses credits.

- Every new account starts with the 14-day trial. No card is required.
- When the trial ends, the account moves to Free unless it subscribes.
- There is one paid plan, the subscription. A small number of legacy accounts are on a Plus plan with 200 credits a month, which is no longer sold.
- Early Users have full access granted free of charge, with the same features as the subscription.

Voice costs
Voice generation is the largest and most predictable cost. For a 30-minute meditation:

Order of use
- Included credits (the trial or monthly allowance) are used first.
- Extra credits are used when the included credits run out.
On Free, ElevenLabs voices and high quality cover images use extra credits only. They never use the 15 monthly credits. Kokoro and Gemini voices and Lyria recordings use the monthly credits first, like everything else.
Allowance periods
- Free and subscription credits refresh on the first day of each calendar month, in the timezone set in Preferences.
- Monthly credits do not roll over.
- Trial credits last for the 14 days of the trial.
- Starting a subscription starts a fresh allowance. Usage before subscribing does not count against it.
The Account page shows the credits left, the refresh date and the extra-credits balance.
Credit Activity
Credit Activity, at the bottom of Plan & Credits on the Account page, lists the credits used each day, broken down into Chat, Meditation writing, Voice, Cover image and Lyria, and each extra-credits purchase.
Notices
A short line above the chat box shows when credits need attention:

Extra credits
Extra credits are sold in 10-credit units and never expire. On the Account page, 10 Credits, 30 Credits and Other Amount open Stripe checkout, where the quantity can be adjusted in steps of 10. One checkout can add up to 1,000 credits. Checkout shows the final price and tax.
Extra credits also unlock ElevenLabs voices and high quality covers on Free.
When credits run out
When both included and extra credits are used up, chat, writing, voice generation, high quality covers and Lyria recordings pause until the allowance refreshes, extra credits are added, or a subscription starts. Every meditation that already has audio keeps playing, and downloads of existing audio keep working.
A meditation whose voice generation has already started can still finish. It can go up to 5 credits past the balance, and that part is not charged.
After the trial
When the trial ends, Open Meadow shows a short note explaining the change, with options to continue on Free, subscribe or buy credits. Free starts with 15 fresh credits when the trial ends, and they refresh on the first day of the next month.
During the trial, Continue on Free in Plan & Credits switches to Free early. The 15 Free credits start that day and refresh on the first day of the next month. Unused trial credits do not carry over, and ElevenLabs voices then use extra credits.
