Fix audio problems

Most audio problems in Open Meadow have one of three causes: an occasional glitch in generated speech, audio generation that stopped, or a voice or credit limit. This page covers each one.

Glitches in the voice

Speech generation has some randomness. Occasionally a passage has a glitch, a cut-off word, an odd tone change or another artifact, even when the script is fine. Some voices are more prone to this than others. Generating the audio again usually fixes it, though not always.

Regenerate one passage

This works best when only one or a few passages sound wrong, and it uses the fewest credits.

  1. In the player, open More and choose Edit Script.
  2. Make a tiny change to the passage that sounds wrong, for example a dash at the end of the paragraph.
  3. Choose Replace Script, check the result, and choose Confirm.

Open Meadow generates new audio for the changed passage only. The other passages keep their audio. A trailing dash is normally not spoken, but punctuation can affect delivery. Changing only spaces may not count as a change, because extra whitespace is trimmed.

Regenerate the whole meditation

This works best when several passages sound wrong.

  1. In the player, open More, then Other Settings.
  2. Choose Resynthesize.
  3. Check the credit estimate and confirm.

The Other Settings dialog with Sharing, Upload Cover Image, Regenerate Cover Image, High Quality Cover Image, Copy Script Text, and the Resynthesize button outlined

This replaces all speech audio for the current voice. The script does not change.

Both options use credits. With a custom ElevenLabs voice, they use your ElevenLabs credits instead. Closing and reopening the player reuses the existing audio, so it does not fix a glitch.

Audio generation stopped

If speech generation fails, the player shows Audio generation stopped.

  1. Choose Retry.
  2. If it fails again, close the player and open the meditation again.
  3. If the problem continues, contact support at [email protected].

Only completed speech generation uses credits. Failed steps are not charged.
