Share a meditation

Meditations are private by default. You can share one meditation at a time with a private link or make it public. People who open the link can play the meditation without an account.

How to share

  1. Open the meditation in the player.
  2. Open the More menu, choose Other Settings, then Sharing.
  3. Turn on Share this meditation. The meditation starts as a private link.
  4. Under Visibility, choose Private link or Public.
  5. Optionally, turn on Allow others to adapt this meditation.
  6. Choose Copy to copy the link.

The Sharing dialog with Share this meditation turned on, Private link selected under Visibility, Allow others to adapt this meditation turned on, and the link with a Copy button

Visibility options

OptionWho can open itLink format
PrivateOnly you. This is the default.None
Private linkAnyone who has the complete link./m/<id>?t=<token>
PublicAnyone who has the link, without a token./m/<id>

A private link only works with its t parameter. If someone removes that part of the address, the link stops working.

Shared meditation pages are not indexed by search engines, whether the meditation uses a private link or is public.

What people see on the shared page

People who open a shared meditation can:

  • see the title, the cover image and the full script, with its section headings
  • see the duration and language, and, if you allowed adapting, the voice, background music and ending sound
  • play the meditation in the player
  • adapt the meditation, if you allowed it

They cannot download the meditation, share it again, change its voice, upload a cover image or change any other settings. These actions stay with the owner.

The shared player plays the audio that already exists for the meditation's current voice. Visitors do not generate new audio, so playing the meditation through once, or downloading it, before you share it makes all of it available.

Allow others to adapt

When Allow others to adapt this meditation is on, the shared page shows an Adapt button. Adapting opens a new chat in the visitor's own account, with your meditation attached. The visitor can then ask for changes, for example:

  • translate it into another language
  • make a longer or shorter version
  • personalize the text
  • choose a different voice, music and ending sound

Visitors who are not signed in are asked to create an account first. Adapting creates a new meditation in their library. Your meditation does not change.

  • Turning sharing off makes the meditation private and stops every existing link from working. Adapting is turned off too.
  • Turning sharing on again creates a new link. Old links do not start working again.
  • Switching from Private link to Public keeps the same address and drops the token. The old private link still opens the meditation.
  • Switching from Public to Private link creates a new token. The public address and any earlier private link stop working.

After changing visibility, copy the link again before you send it.
